Tracking and events

Open and click tracking, inbound SES events, and the outbound-webhook status.

Open tracking

Opens are recorded by a 1×1 pixel receiver:

GET /t/open/:id

Embed the pixel in your own HTML — <img src="https://api.notideus.io/t/open/<id>" width="1" height="1" alt="">, with the email's id — wherever you want opens counted. Outgoing mail is never modified: Notideus does not inject tracking pixels into your emails. Loading the pixel records the open and moves the email to opened. These URLs are receivers, not endpoints you call directly.

Click tracking

Clicks are recorded by a redirect receiver:

GET /t/click/:id?url=

Wrap the links you want tracked yourself — https://api.notideus.io/t/click/<id>?url=<target> — with the email's id. Links are never rewritten for you. The redirect answers 302 Found to the target URL and records the click, moving the email to clicked. As with opens, this happens when the recipient clicks a link in the email — not via direct API use.

Inbound events

Delivery, bounce and complaint feedback reaches Notideus through an SNS webhook from SES. Events are applied as they arrive: Delivery → delivered, Bounce → bounced (contact flips too), Complaint → complained (contact flips too). This is how email statuses feed back into the dashboard — see Email lifecycle and Contact statuses.

Outbound webhooks

Notideus does not yet offer customer webhook URLs — there is no outbound webhook you can subscribe to for delivery events. Monitor your sends via the dashboard instead, and do not poll non-existent status endpoints.
